Track season is underway and TOHS picked up another win against Oaks Christian at the home meet on March, 23. Boys Frosh/Soph and JV beat their opponents as well as varsity girls. Varsity boys tied overall against Oaks.
Out of the 4 meets track and field has had so far, Oaks Christian has proven to have the best competition. “We haven’t versed many teams yet but I guess today, against Oaks Christian, was the hardest.” said sophomore Samhal Asfaw.
On top of the overall wins, the girls and boys varsity throwers got a clean sweep. The Frosh/Soph JV and Varsity Boys won their 4×100 races and the Girls Varsity also won their 4×100 race. TOHS won many other events as well, earning them the overall winner spot in the meet.
The track and field team has been competing extremely well this year. The team is well rounded and is strong in all events. “We won three out of four of the meets we had and we have a really strong team in throwing, sprints, distance, jumps, and vaulting.” Asfaw said.
The team is continuing to make new personal records and hoping to have a Marmonte League win.
