Boys basketball faces off against Oaks Christian tonight at 7:30. After recording a regular season record of 4-4, the Lancers will face the Lions (4-4) who the team beat previously during their last game on January 20th.
The boys expect to be evenly matched tonight, but intend to bring all of their energy and carry over the momentum from last Friday’s win.
“My expectations are for us, especially the seniors, to come out and play to our full potential,” Tyler Clem said. “If everyone is on the same page we should come out with the win,”
The Green Hole has something planned for tonight’s game, something that has never been conducted before at Thousand Oaks High School. They will be organizing the Silent Night event, where the crowd remains silent until the tenth point is scored by the Lancers.
“I’m pretty excited. I actually was the person who showed [the leaders] the idea and have been pushing it so it’s great to see them go through with it,” Clem said, ”It’s never been done at TO so it’ll be interesting to see how it goes.”
The players as well as the coaching staff head into this game, knowing that this is the team’s final shot at making the playoffs this season.
“We need to play with a higher level of energy,” head coach Rich Endres said. “It will not be an easy game.”
Seeing that it is the last home game of the season, the Lancers hope to give their all tonight in order to win and move onto the playoffs.
