Boys soccer faced off against Oak Park on Friday, December 1st, in its second home game of the pre-season. The Lancers dominated the first half of the match, with goals from junior midfielder Fabian Avilles and junior center midfielder Noah Marshall, but Oak Park striked back and made it 2–1 at halftime.
After the second half continued, the Lancers scored another goal by Fabian Avilles. However, once again Oak Park scored to make the game 3–2. In the last 10 minutes of the game, the Lancers sealed the game with a goal by Senior forward Cesar Diaz.
This was the first win for the lancers, after coming off a loss against channel islands and a tie with Buena. The team is looking to improve as they get further into their schedule.
“It was our first victory and it showed us our potential. The challenge we have walking away from the game is if we can play with that same drive and emotion in every single game to come,” senior captain and center defender Jon Chow said.
Their next game will be against Ventura tomorrow, December 6th.
