Going into Marmonte league finals, the boys cross country team was looking to overcome their greatest competition in Newbury Park, the team already qualifying for CIF. The team came out strong and ended up winning league finals for the first time since 2008.
The Lancers qualified for CIF as a whole team this year. Where as, senior Bjorn Slattum was the only one to qualify last year. As the team, all individually finished, the 20-minute wait seemed to take forever before finding out they had overcome Newbury and won league finals.
As the boys cross country approaches CIF, I talked pre-CIF with the star sophomores, Mitchell Burr, Eric Longo, Ethan Bersley, and assistant coach, Coach Daigneault to recap the season and discuss the setbacks and accomplishments of the season.
