Thousand Oaks High School may just be starting off its year, but that doesn’t mean that it is too early for football season. The Lancers kicked off their season on Friday, Aug. 26, against Ventura. The Lancers had a good start to the game but ended up being a rough loss of 58-14.
Despite the defeat, the team still found some positives from the game.
“Having the Green Hole support us throughout the game, even though we were going through a losing streak was really helpful to keep up our morale. I could feel how good our team chemistry was when we scored early in the game,” junior offensive lineman, Mason Wiley, said.
They will start the week off getting right back to work and getting ready for their next game on, Sep. 9 against Highland, giving them they have two weeks to prepare.
“There were a lot of hiccups during the game, but that’s what today [Monday] is going to be for,” Wiley said. “We are going to hit the films and see what we can improve.”
