Lancer Basketball – In the Hoop!

The Lancers varsity boys basketball team scored a big win over crosstown rival Westlake on Friday, 72-59.
T.O. went up early, 9-2, but the Warriors trimmed the lead to 24-23 midway through the second quarter. A 9-2 run gave the Lancers another double-digit lead, one they would not surrender behind a monster performance from Elias Chin.
The Lancer leader scored 29 points, dominating the Warriors all over the floors.
“You have to go to either TO or Westlake to really know how intense this is,” TO coach Logan Baltau said. “It’s a lot. I woke up feeling anxious and barely slept last night. They’ve got one of the best coaches in the area (Lancer legend Kyle Kegley) and a lot of great players who I’ve known their whole lives so that adds a little extra to it. They beat us up last time we played them, so this is one we have had marked down on our calendars all offseason.”
