Camila Cabello, the ex-member of the sensational girl group, Fifth Harmony, has released her very first album, Camila, since she left the group. This album has been highly anticipated since her first single as a soloist, “Crying in the club”. The album has a total of eleven songs, including her latest single, “Havana”. Having a mixture of ballads and pop jams.
Currently number five on the itunes charts for her album. There was no way to really prepare for the album she released today, January 12th. The singles she released before were all different genres, but she brought her Cuban heritage to bring a new way to make music into the industry.
While some songs are a bit strung along like “She Loves Control”, where she only sings the same lyrics over and over again for 2:57, the instrumental melody makes up for it as she repeats herself. The other songs have feelings and the feeling can be heard in the ballads like in “Never be the same” and the tear jerking “Consequences”.
Bringing out confessionals in the album as she talks from love to friends, she shows a new side of her that was not able to be seen while she was in Fifth Harmony. The album overall is full of gems that show that Camila Cabello is no longer apart of Fifth Harmony and she is a force to be reckoned with.
